Travelled with my sister and brother-in-law. My husband and I had been on five cruises before this one and this has to rate as the best. The food was superb with plenty of choice. It was available from 07.00 to 21.30 with midnight snacks. Hot drinks were available 24/7 in the buffet. The cabins were well appointed with a big window and enough space and storage. We did see previous reviews and took extra coat hangers and we were glad we did. You do need a European adaptor if you have electrical equipment or chargers. The water in the taps is drinkable and it was fine. There are soap/shampoo dispensers in the showers. (We took soap because a previous review said bars of soap provided were very small.)

We took alcohol in our cases and there was no problem getting it on the ship. Even in ports there were no checks when we re-boarded. However drinks weren't as expensive as we had thought. Long cocktails were £4.00, G & T £3.85, can of beer £2.85, can of coke £2.05. The entertainment was very good - you are never going to get West End show standards but the young people worked very hard. There was also a comedian on a couple of nights and an opera singer on another two nights who were excellent. On sea days the activities provided were varied - line dancing, ballroom dancing, quizzes, keep fit, lectures and crafts. Something for everyone. I couldn't fault anything on our cruise and the ports of call were all great destinations.

The ship goes into moorings near the cities and the ship was met by the red tourist buses at each stop. We took the red bus in Copenhagen and Helsinki. Tallinn is only a 10 minute walk from the ship. We had to do organised excursions in St Petersburg. In Warnemunde we took the train, just outside the port, to Rostock. Only cost a couple of euros and about 20 minutes on train. Lady in station spoke English. We came back after lunch and then walked round Warnemunde which doesn't take very long. But nice to sit in one of the bars by the water and watch the world go by. In Stockholm there were complimentary buses to take us into the town but we did walk back to the ship, about 25 minutes.

Cabin Review

Cabin Standard outside

Adequate size. No noise heard from adjoining cabins. Very comfortable bed. Under bed storage for cases. Safe in cupboard. Hairdryer. Cabin kept spotlessly clean. Shower very good - powerful and hot water always.
