We started off our Land/Cruise tour on the 3rd September. We were met at the airport by Princess as promised and received a pack with room keys, luggage tags and itinerary etc. The whole land tour was carried out very efficiently by Princess, top marks for this portion of our tour. Then we got to the ship. Right away the ambiance seemed off. The female staff were great but a lot of the male servers were surly and seemed unhappy. One actually cried on our shoulders about how unhappy they were and felt they had no one to go to with their problems at home or they would lose their job. We never saw the Captain or uniformed crew, whereas on other cruises with other lines they were always visible. So this may well have been just a problem with this ship.

This was our first cruise with Princess but our 7th using other lines. We are already booked for a cruise on the Crown Princess in January so it will be interesting to compare. The food in the dining room was very good, certainly no complaints there, but the buffet was not wonderful although I always found something to eat. I have actually never seen such watery mashed potatoes.

The entertainment was also excellent, apart from 1 comedian. The entertainment group who carried out quizzes etc, Mark and Max among them were absolutely great. Try the acupuncturist if you have a health problem, a little pricey but got me back walking so I could enjoy my cruise. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our land and sea cruise but this ship needs looking at re the bad atmosphere amongst the servers - look to the top.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

This cabin was fine, just enough room to move around and plenty of storage. The shower/toilet is really tiny, smaller than on any other ship I have been on and it was difficult to get hot water in the shower, so fiddly. Nice large balcony with two chairs, two stools and a table.

Ketchikan

Did lots of shopping in KetchiKan as it is the end of the season and lots of bargains to be had.
