First may I say Alaska was beyond works. We totally enjoyed the land portion of the cruise. The guides and drivers were outstanding. Knowledgeable and kind and entertaining. With the exception of one nights stay in a small non A/C cabin the accommodations were fine. The first place room was fine, but places to eat were minimal. You could eat at the Hotel, but prices were high and you couldn't get one thing without paying for the whole package. I am a vegetarian and choices were small I had to pay for the whole thing to get one item I could eat. The location of this Hotel was such that they had you. With no ground transportation to go to an eatery of your choice you were forced to pay and eat at the hotel or eat at the adjacent restaurant next door.

Once we boarded the ship the problems continued. I had asked my travel agent if they had seltzer water, she said she made a call and they did have seltzer. But they did not. We had a complimentary beverage package which covered nothing. All drinks were over $10 and my husband had to pay an additional $70 to be able to get unlimited drinks. I refused to pay an additional $70 as I do not drink. But I couldn't even get water without having paid the extra $70. What good is a complimentary beverage package when it does not cover anything. Also you couldn't even have an ice cream cone with out paying an additional fee. Same thing with specialty coffee. It seems every time your turned around you had to charge an additional amount to your cruise ship bill. As you can look up I only charged extra a little over $400.

The restaurant we were assigned did not have enough vegetarian choices. I was forced to eat at the buffet at lot. Arthur the host of the BlU restaurant saw us come out of the next door restaurant and was disappointed and asked he why. I said the food was not as fancy as his and they served Alaskan King Salmon where his menu had Atlantic farm feed Salmon. I live on the east coast and I won't pay Atlantic Salmon and told him I didn't go on a cruise to Alaska to get it. That night the man who ran the restaurant called us and said we can come back to BLU and anything the other restaurant had they would get for me. So we went back to eating at BLU and it was great.

Aqua Class

Cabin A1

Cabin was fine, a little small but not bad. My husband loved the shower. Also the staff who took care of us and cleaned the cabin were excellent.
