First time sailing with NCL had a easy check in at venice (there's was no porters on hand to help with luggage upon arrival)
Once check in was complete we went on to the ship to go to our cabin this was very poor on NCL's part although there was crew along the gang way giving you a welcome onboard there was no one there at the end to show you to your cabin, once I found a member of crew I asked where to go for here, was of time as he replied ur on vacation enjoy yourself and we had to find the cabin ourselves
Fortunate for us we had the drinks package (UDP) very glad we had this as it's very expensive onboard and with a18% gratuity being added to all drinks purchased ur drinks package will not include water or coffee
Beds were quite big and they were comfortable was cleaned twice daily and beds turned down every night
We didn't feel we would have had enough time to do the Roman ruins so we tour the town on our own vey good and you will enjoy the shops here
We found the tours onboard expensive in port ignore the taxi drive and go on to the Main Street here we got s taxi for 4 of us for 80 euro about 4-5 hours done all we wanted to see and also the changing of the guard at the presidents place and more
We were fortunate to make berth in port and not being tendered in your best to take the water taxi 2 euro each this takes you closer into town we were amazed just walking through the narrow lanes with all the different shops from hand made to designer, loads of cafes and dining your best to explore this place on your own
We don't take a tour from NCL but through a company called CBM we done sorento amalfi Coast and pompei for 69 euro each you had to pay the fee into pompei this was a lot cheaper as same tour onboard was approx 200 euro
