loved the destinations, price, and easy boarding. The ship is old dated but beds in cabin comfy, showers great. Bad points it WAS noisy, passengers need to be aware of this if they are early risers or late revellers. Ignorance is bliss....food OK, brekkies great, lunches alright, evening meals mediocre tasteless pap, but with good soups! Evening entertainment? Avoid. On wet September days at sea need a cinema of sorts, plenty of room in the show lounge for a cinema showing twice a day,but not used.

Sloppy consideration of passengers needs. Knitting group, bean bag bowls....WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT???? It could have been a Saga cruise without the cost such was the age demographic on board, although it's a state of mind I guess. Staff lively, cheerful happy (to me), although resident British crew very matey matey, not very professional at times. Felt a bit like if anything went wrong it would all fall like a pack of cards. Destinations were great, but the complete cock up with the Kiel canal was a shambles, with the ship being too big to go through it....hello did nobody measure said ship against said canal anytime ever? This meant 2 days in rainy freezing weather at sea, instead of 1, at the end. Brainless....being informed of this after booking 10 months before was outrageous.

All in all, a great little cruise, great destinations in good weather, and if you are elderly, grumpy, morose, like being patronised by cruise entertainment staff, it's for you! Oh, and I took a travel kettle and hid it every day, good tip. I have booked a mini cruise next month on Marco Polo as well, let's see how much better that is.

Cabin Review

Cabin inside twin

decent size as a twin, when made into double a bit cramped. Shower great...noisy neighbours a nuisance. Lots of hanging and drawer space, good steward Joe. Near lift, convenient as under restaurant and bistro (buffet) TV got UK stations for a few hours then lost it till way back. No facility to watch own DVD's. On cabin TV no onboard account display.
