Sail Date: Aug 2015

Having taken riverboat tours with Viking in the past, we were anxious to see how well they could handle ocean cruising, and we were not disappointed. The ship itself is beautiful, and the amenities and meals first class. We were particularly impressed with all the music on board, its range and scope, and the many venues where music was performed.

We will most definitely sail with Viking again, both on other riverboats, and other ocean cruises.

Our only complaint about the trip was that Viking has abandoned its riverboat philosophy of allowing passengers to choose the amount of gratuity they wish to give. Instead, they have copied the industry standard of attaching a daily amount per person to your stateroom account. True, you could ask to have it removed or changed, but if it truly is a gratuity, let us choose the amount to give OR make it part of the all inclusive nature of the cruise, and add it to the bill when the cruise is first booked.

Cabin Review

Cabin Standard Verandah

Much attention to detail was put into the design of the staterooms, which were clean, comfortable and storage-friendly. The bathrooms were amazing, larger than many hotels we have stayed in, well equipped, with again lots of room to store items.
