Getting to Seattle from NZ is a big deal. This was our first real overseas experience, so we were very excited. This was our 3rd cruise and one of the tips we had picked up, was if only ever do one more cruise in your life, make it Alaska. So as we had a business trip in Hawaii, we decided to make a real thing of it and take that advice.
As we had our (young) teenage son with us, we splashed a bit more for a mini suite for the 3 of us. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had been upgraded to a full suite. (The notification had come through after we had left home, some 48 odd hours earlier).
As a now Suite passenger (we didnt really know what that meant all cruise), we got to board through a faster line and basically walked straight on (after going through security). We were probably in our suite somewhere around 11am/12am. (We had been going through time zones and moving a lot, so hadnt actually caught up with the real time). After a quick unpack, we went to the trough (buffet) for brunch.
It was the San Juan suite, on level 14. About the size of at least 2 cabins, or a good size motel room. We had space to walk round. There was a couch that folded out to a bed (for son) a queen size bed for us, a small table (for putting all the hor'duves and fruit they kept bringing us on) and a couple of chairs. The bathroom was very spacious, with plenty of room to put everything. There was also a complimentary mini bar (refills you paid for).
The bed was pretty comfy but getting a bit saggy.
Didnt notice any sea motion. Could hear a bit of noise from above, as under the lido deck, but nothing that stopped us from going to sleep at night.
