This was our first experience with Viking River Cruises. We chose Viking because it went the places we wanted to visit. The ship was a pleasant surprise. The food was very good. The chef, Sebastian, was entertaining. Enjoyed the lectures and the games, particularly the Liar's Club. Would do it again, for the most part. Of the seven days, six were really great. The seventh was a disappointment. Our primary objective for this cruise was to visit the Normandy Beaches. Being American we were on that branch of the tour. We had no opportunity to see the beach where the British came ashore, although we drove right by it. There was no opportunity to see where Churchill and DE Gaul came ashore, although we drove right by it. By the time we got to Omaha Beach, we were told we had fifteen minutes! There was just enough time to walk from the bus, across the parking lot and down the steps to stand on the sand, then we had to hurry back to the bus. No opportunity to walk down to the water's edge. This was a major disappointment.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with Large Window

Cabin met our needs. However, needed more room between the foot of the bed and the counter tops.
