Of the cruises we have taken, this was the most enjoyable. The staff on the Pearl knew how to provide wonderful customer service from the moment we boarded the ship to disembarkation. We were fortunate to have a suite which admittedly added to the cruise experience; however, it didn't matter where we were on the ship, the crew was welcoming, pleasant and had a smile on their face. We highly recommend booking a suite because of the roominess of the stateroom, the assistance of the concierge and butler, the invitation to several events and the dining experience.
We had breakfast and lunch daily on the 13th floor, and it was excellent. Our servers always greeted us as though we were VIP's and seated us at a table with a great view. We opted to have dinner nightly at a specialty restaurant, and with one exception, we thoroughly enjoyed the food: starters such as shrimp cocktails, soup, salad, great rolls and bread, lobster, steak, lamb chops (just to name a few options) and desserts. When we returned to our stateroom, there were usually chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, sandwiches and/or fruit for a snack. The most amazing experience, however, was the "Chef's Table" dinner which consisted of several courses and wine pairings, the opportunity to meet the chef and other guests on the ship and to have an unforgettable meal (over the course of about four hours). It was fantastic! We booked a future cruise, in a suite stateroom, while we were on the ship; and the specialty restaurant dining, unlimited beverages, wi-fi and a credit toward shore excursions were included - too good to pass up.
Our cabin was designed for individuals with special needs, and it was roomy and had grab bars where needed in the bathroom and an accessible shower - perfect.
The captain to much time at each Glacier so we could get great photos.
