After numerous foreign travels by air and coach, our experience with Viking and Viking VE fully met or exceeded all expectations for comfort, meeting our diverse interests and providing an overall satisfying experience. From the moment we stepped off our plane in Amsterdam until we departed Budapest, Viking and the crew of the VE were there with friendliness, guidance and help. Our hotel in Amsterdam and accommodations on the VE were spot on what we expected from Viking and desired. The Viking VE crew was simply outstanding. Viking's attention to detail, efficiency of operations and provision for multiple options for their travelers is unsurpassed in our experience. Our satisfaction was such that we immediately signed up for another Viking cruise as soon as we got home!

Cabin Review

Veranda Superior

Cabin A

As a mechanical design engineer and having lived on a sailboat for three years, the cabin design is outstanding! Again, attention to detail, storage room, head facilities, general comfort could hardly be improved.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

Bought tickets at hotel, rode trolleys by ourselves with guidance from Viking staff.

Amsterdam

The museum is small enough that self guiding was excellent.

Melk

Excellent guide. Scale somewhat overwhelming.

Cologne

Excellent guide; saw all we expected and wanted to see except, due to it being Sunday, was not able to enter the Cathedral.

Nuremberg

The education about the rise and fall of the Third Reich, Germany's recovery from that, and the history of the Nuremberg trials was outstanding. The guide was exceptional for a very difficult subject to communicate. We highly recommend this excursion.

Regensburg

Quaint, excellent guide, model of an old river-front town.

Bratislava

Well worth the stop as it reflects, in a number of subtle way, the effects of the Soviet Union occupation on East German communities, not seen in West German communities.
