We had only been on one cruise prior to this one and, frankly, were not greatly impressed. Too much sailing and not enough shore time were our conclusions. Everything we needed (coffee, drinks, snacks etc) cost extra and the shore excursions were extremely expensive. So we were most impressed with the Viking experience, with 24 hour coffee, beer and wine with meals, and the included tours which all gave us excellent experience of the local towns and cities. The additional tours were excellent value.

Service on board was terrific; the Progam Manager was everywhere and available and helpful. All the staff fell over themselves to provide service above and beyond our expectations. Food was wonderful (we both gained 4 kg) and varied, and beautifully presented and served.
