From the very start the holiday was wonderful. The coach journey from the airport to the Viking Truvor was comfortable and restful. The cheerful greeting as we boarded was more than expected and we were efficiently shown to our cabins. These were excellent; spacious, clean and well appointed. The dining room was lovely and we especially liked the tables for two by the windows. The dining room and kitchen staff did a wonderful job for the whole two weeks and the food was very good, including all the local delicacies which were served daily.
Shore excursions were informative and visually stunning on most occasions as the museums and palaces were some of the finest we had ever seen. Cruising the rivers and lakes of Russia was fascinating and the sheer number and variants of onion domes was mind boggling. The evening entertainment was relaxing which was pleasant after the day's exertions, the lounges both being spacious and comfortable. Moscow came as a great climax to the whole cruise, a beautiful city with lots to see and enjoy.
The most amazing thing about the cruise, though, was the Viking Truvor staff, who could not do enough for everyone from start to finish of the trip. The Hotel Manager, The Cruise Director, The Captain and The Maitre'D were so so helpful at all times and the rest of the crew backed them up superbly. All in all one of the best holidays we've ever had, if not the best.
