We have traveled all over the world; taken many ocean cruises, tours and safari's. This was by far the best vacation experience we have ever had. Our goal was to be immersed into the area, the wineries, and learn about French wine. We did not expect to "cruise" to somewhere; you don't travel far on a small river. This was a lovely way to visit the small villages and get a true feel for the country and the people and the wine they produce. The ship was spotless, crew was fabulous, food superb, and the wine was always flowing. The cabins are small but there is plenty of storage and we were very comfortable. We enjoyed visiting the wineries and blending our own cognac. There were several walking tours at the stops which we enjoyed. Entertainment was minimal in the evening, so don't go if you expect to be entertained. Don't go if you expect to travel a long distance like you do on an ocean cruise. DO go if you want to experience French villages, eat gourmet food, drink superb wine and be treated like royalty. We can't wait until we can go on another Viking River Cruise!

Cabin Review

French Balcony Superior

It was small but adequate and spotless which was the most important feature to me.
