Cabin: Balcony

We boarded at Athens on a incredibly hot day. Embarkation was swift and comfortable even though we were 3 hours early. We had a balcony cabin on deck 4 kept immaculately by our steward. Lunch we tried to take where ever possible in the Brittania restaurant because of the superb quality of the meals. Sat on table for 6 at late sitting and enjoyed the company of the other guests who had all cruised before and of course that meant lots of conversations on where and with which cruise were good. We found the entertainment in the evening mixed, not always varied enough for us. But there is plenty for everyone really.

Athens was so hot reaching 100 degrees that we decided to take the hop on, hop off open bus tour. A tip well worth considering is the buses with roof shades and not completely open to the sun. Visited the Acropolis. Tip: If you are EU passport holder over 60 the entrance is only half price. No need to take expensive Cruise tours which can be rushed or too hot to enjoy.

Next stop was Bodrum which is bussling with shops, tavernas etc. A good place to haggle for a bargain, it's what the shop holders expect.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BA

Good size . Plenty of hanging space. Quite roomy bathroom always clean , towels always replaced and loved the products for skin and hair. Loved the large bed with immaculate covers and pillows. Having a balcony is important to us so we can enjoy the coastline as you cruise by. Even saw the isle of Capri at sunset. Gorgeous

Port Reviews

Bodrum

Just walked along the esplanade to the souk and shopping area and then on to the Gulag marina. Got some good leather sandals etc after bargaining.

Santorini

Tender is used for excursions here and luckily only our ship was in port that day. We used the cable car situated to the left of the landing area and there were no queues. Lovely walk around, no real crowds so were able to window shop easily. Had a nice Greek lunch in a quite taverna in a side street. And on return to Victoria had lovely swim in warm pool on board.

Katakolon (Olympia)

Katakalon is a small town close to Olympia with some nice shops and tavernas which is fine for a few hours ashore. Olympia can be a little disappointing as there are only a few relics etc. but a fine museum if you enjoy that sort of day out.
