A group of 10 adults went on the Amsterdam to Basel Rhine river cruise. Being a river cruise there is plenty to see land side and frequent stops provided a taster for further exploration. The tours were well researched, the guides very knowledgeable and the individual receiver devices meant you could keep up with the commentary even if you could not keep up with the guide. Two of our party had dietary requirements which were catered for with skill and variety. The meals were superb and varied apart from one evening where everything was a derivative of mushrooms. Wine and other alcoholic drinks were served with meals at no further cost - this being sufficient for most of our party for the remainder of the evening. Entertainment was excellent with a resident pianist and other evening entertainment on four of the seven nights.
We travelled to Amsterdam via Eurostar from London and Brussels. The service was first class, the journey smooth and comfortable. The only downside was the stopover in Brussels and Paris, on the return, which was too long and we felt could have been spent in one of the VIP lounges. There was an optional two day break in Amsterdam or Lucerne at the start or end of the holiday. We did not do this but my recommendation is to take this option as passengers do not really see much of these cities due to the sailing schedule.
clean, comfortable and reasonably spacious
Fascinating insight into car building
