The itinerary, through Southeast Asia, was very intriguing. Coming from the US, we were looking forward to explore this exotic part of the World. Last year we took Holland America from Singapore, up the other side of the Thai peninsula to Myanmar. We loved that experience but were looking forward to Vietnam on this itinerary. We were surprised to see Royal Caribbean bring its standard fare of Caribbean activities to this itinerary. No cultural or regional expert on board. No port lectures or local cultural shows, no culture! Instead we were treated to a sad "Sexiest Man Contest" and "Belly flop" contest. Outside of the production cast, the nightly entertainment was sad, terrible magician, juggler, and singers (except some of the production cast singers). The entertainment and activities lacked any connection to the exotic locale we were visiting. Most of the activities were really sales opportunities poorly disguised. This ship was a sales and marketing nightmare. The value was in the itinerary and time spent on the ship lacked any engagement.

The excursions were grossly over priced.

The tendering process used in several ports miserably slow. The ship only has 4 tenders and some of the tender trips were 15 to 20 minutes each way. It took hours to get off the ship.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin N

Although we didn't request it, we were placed in an ASAP cabin likely since we booked a 4 berth. The cabin was definitely more spacious than a standard interior. There was no tub just a walk-in/roll-in shower. The room design was very dated. We used the bunk and it was very dirty and dusty, they don't do a good job cleaning. The housekeeping was average, although they didn't refill the soap pump until halfway through the cruise.

Port Reviews

Singapore

Singapore is an easy city to get around in. We stayed at the Marriott Tang Plaza, very centrally located. Take the metro(subway) right to the Cruise Center.

Koh Samui

Ko Samui is a lot like Phuket. You can get a driver for $40USD per couple to take you around the island for a day. Cheap massages right on the beach!

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

We loved Bangkok! We used Oriental Escapes to transfer from the port to downtown Bangkok, it costs 2200 Thai baht each way. Stayed at the ideally located Renaissance. The hotel was great with a very helpful staff. Getting around Bangkok via cab or tuk tuk was cheap and easy.

Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville lacks the infrastructure of the other ports. Best bet here is to Sohka beach resort and enjoy their pool and beach for the day. Cruise passengers pay $20usd for day use of the facility.
