We flew into Marco Polo airport from London City Airport arriving at around 11.00am. We had booked our transfer (return €73) via Airport Transfers.com. We were met by our driver in arrivals and escorted to our transport, a 7 seater Mercedes Vito. As we only had carry on luggage there was plenty of space.

20 minutes later we were at Terminal 123 and checked in having handed in the luggage, we received our Sea passes and made our way to the free shuttle bus to take us to the transport hub for onward journey to San Marco via the Vapporetto. We purchased a return ticket for €7.

Having never been to Venice it was with some trepidation that we made this journey, our fears were allayed once we were seated and on our way to St Marks Sq terminal. A leisurely trip along the canals and once we disembarked we joined the throngs of other tourists. We spent 4 hours enjoying Venice and returned to the ship around 4pm.

Downside: Being positioned On deck 8 Port side we did experience some noise late at night and early morning from chairs and loungers being scraped along the deck and people who wore high heels
