My partner and I cruised out of Sydney to Auckland on the Diamond Princess on 5th January 2009. We had read many Diamond Princess reviews before our holiday (and I highly recommend this) and we also pretty much knew the deck plans by heart, but actually being on board and experiencing Her was another story!! We have cruised 5 times before with other cruise companies, and in various different stateroom types, but this was by far the biggest ship we had ever cruised on - and the best!!

Here are our thoughts.

EMBARKATION & DISEMBARKATION Embarkation and disembarkation was SO TOTALLY SMOOTH & hassle free, we were very surprised actually. Also, getting off the ship at each port was very easy and quick. We queued at Sydney for about half and hour, if that, before we boarded the ship. The check in process was very efficient and there were plenty of customs officers and check in staff to handle the passenger numbers.
