2nd cruise with F.O. Met our expectations. Dover embarkation good in all respects (disembarking was not so brilliant, with muddle around the luggage and coach/car/taxi pick-up points).
Ship recently repainted and in good order throughout. Captain friendly and available to be seen around the decks, a Finn. We booked early and were allocated to the much smaller Grampian restaurant on deck 8: superb sunsets and panoramic views. Other passengers hinted darkly that if you only book cheaper cabins down below, you don't get to the Grampian.
Menus and presentation of food, quality and service we thought was pretty near perfect. Niggles with restaurants and catering in general: poor quality jelly-like conserves, bitter, weak coffee.
Plenty big enough. Dated style of fixtures and fittings and rather off-putting scarlet cushion covers. Not really a criticism. It should be obvious F.O run rebuilt, older ships.
Shower operation a bit poor - poor flow, cheap plastic shower head came apart twice. Good white towels and blue deck towels provided
Nice big, spotless balcony, overhung by promenade/pool deck above.
