I have travelled Cunard several times before, and was overall very pleased with the QM2, but was a little disappointed in that the elegance of formal wear did not apply to High Tea any longer - as that was one of my fondest memories. With the casual attire at 3:30 in the afternoon, people came in shorts and flipflops, and that just didn't stand up to a dinner jacket.
The overall service has slipped a little, but not much. The food is very good and the rooms are great. The selection of activities is what it should be for a British ship.
I will go again soon.
The cabin was excellent. It was a sheltered balcony and you have nothing to see but water on a transatlantic crossing - so it was nice to be able to go out and have wine and cheese before dinner. It was unseasonably warm out of New York for the first few days, so it was great to be outside. The room steward was excellent and did everything we asked him to do.
