Our cruise left from Rome and took us back there, after cruising the Greek Islands, Athens, and Ephesus. Embarkation was easy and efficient.
The ports of call were all very good; our first time for all of them. It was annoying the ship left each port so early in the evening, always between 6-7 pm, so that you did not have the chance to have dinner in a port. We all chalked it up to Celebrity's desire to get us all back on the boat and out of the port to open the casino, shops, and bars. The ship traveled between ports very slowly.
Our suite came with the premium beverage package. It thought that got you any cocktail or glass of wine, but we were told there were dollar limits to both and we needed to pay the difference. We never ordered anything over the limit. Also, if you have the premium package, you must order your drink with the particular brand of liquor, otherwise they will make your drink with the cheapest. Any bar might do that, but you just have to keep that in mind.
The room was very nice. Spacious, clean, enough storage for four guests if you used the pull out couch in the living room. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks, and the extra powder room was very handy. The bedroom was a little tight around the edges, but adequate. The bed itself had a remote control, and you could lift your head and/or feet, and vibrate as well. The balcony was large with a jacuzzi tub. The tub's jets were not very powerful but it was nice to take a little bath looking out over the Mediterranean Sea. The living room TV did not work properly for a few days. They would fix it but the problem would reappear the next day. We kind of gave up on it. Our butler was very attentive, perhaps too much so. I asked for tonic and diet coke, and within two days we had amazed 20 cans each. I would stay in the same room again anytime.
