Before this cruise, I had been on three other NCL cruises. I have also been on Princess, Carnival and Holland America cruises.
My first NCL cruise was on Epic in Spain. I loved it. The many food and various entertainment kept me pleased all week. Plus, the single cabins were a great option since I usually travel alone. I have also been on the Breakaway and a smaller NCL ship. In the past, the food options and style of NCL has suited me better than other cruise lines.
So, first some pluses of this particular cruise... the outdoor boardwalk is still a great idea. It feels like you are on a ship whereas most of the others have all the excitement in the center, closed off from the water and wonderful sea wind. The number of options for dining is also nice (thought the quality this time wasn’t the best). The larger ropes course was fun (walking the plank was terrifying) and the water slides are still fun. Surprisingly, my favorite restaurant this time is the Teppanyaki place. The chef we had on the Getaway was so fun (better than Benihana’s). He was funny and the food was delicious.
