This was our 5th cruise with RCL. Have always had a good time . However, the allure of the seas was just not for us, we found it rather crass. There is no doubt that it is a marvellous bit of engineering and very impressive and for families with kids ideal. For the older type though it was a bit overpowering - Disney world on steroids. We had seen it on previous cruises and thought we would give it a go to see what it was like.

Anyway, that is only our opinion based on what we like. What we also disliked was the over selling of everything in that kind of in-your-face way. RCL have now increased their so called "gratuities" to 18% plus there was a Spanish tax of 10% on food and drink putting the cost of a drink up by 28%. And the specialty restaurants by the same. The service on the whole was good, however, some of the bar staff need to buck up their ideas as you were often lucky to get a grunt out of them. The so called duty free has now become a sham with high street prices much lower.

On a positive note the speciality restaurants were top class as was the food in the main restaurant, although we only went there once as it was nearly impossible to book and the queues were often 30 metres long.
