Sail Date: Aug 2015

We just came back from our cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway from NY TO Bermuda WEEK OF 8/16/15. I have been on several cruises but this was the first time on the Norwegian line and it will be my last. Let me first say that we wanted to try something different and though nice to sail out of NY FROM long Island since it convenient and scenic that was the only plus. The design of the ship is poor since the pool areas are extremely small and over crowded and rowdy. The only time you can enjoy the amenities such as the pools, slides and hot tubs is when we were in port and everyone else is off the ship! The dining selection is poor and service very slow. We had to wait along time for table seating in the main restaurants and the menu was the same every night in all the dining areas with little variety. The food lacked in taste and I feel that they want you to pay for the extra fees in specialty restaurants. The last night we finally decided we were fed up with the dining service when we tried to get a reservation in one of the specialty restaurants we were told all the restaurants were booked only to find half the restaurant was half empty at prime time and took a chance and got a table! We were never informed about the free app on I phones before we boarded ship to get internet service as once you board you are charged and even after my husband paid the fee it didn't work. Also a lot of extra hidden fees and we took advantage of the drink promotion only to be taxed and pay additional gratuities. There were a lot of extra hidden fees. The staff was friendly and professional but overall a poor experience.
