I read all the reviews but went in with an open mind and even tho this is an older ship, my wife and I had a great time. The crew, especially our cabin steward Fuad were excellent, lots of positive energy and very personable.

We had the early dining, they have two menus, one is for every night and one is the specials of that night, between the two you could get something decent. I thought the food was good, we only had 2 dishes that we didn't care for but the other ones were great and for a nice sugar rush get the chocolate melting cake. The lunch buffets had many options, the front one was burgers, dogs and chicken. The inside one changed daily and had lots of choices but the quality wasn't that good, we stuck to the Deli, great sliced sandwiches, hot and cold from turkey to pastrami. We also had the pizza, you have to wait about10 minutes but its made fresh, a flat crust and it was good. As for breakfast, we did the buffet, there is an omelet station at the end of each buffet outside plus one inside, i like those better than the eggs put out plus they do special order eggs. The fruit was fresh although the bananas were scarce by the end of the trip. It was basic breakfast stuff and there is an express breakfast buffet in the inside Lido deck where the desserts are for lunch. Overall the food wasn't as bad as people put on here and I like my food. Also the water is fine, i bring filter bottle whenever I travel but the ships water was easily drinkable with no color or taste.

We went to the two big shows, they were very entertaining, both singers had great voices. Went to a few music trivia contests, those can be fun, it depends on who is running it, the ones in the lobby bar by Marcelo were hilarious. He gets people up there with him to dance or sing. The bartenders aren't as personable as the stewards or waiters. I used the gym twice, they had plenty of elliptical, treadmills, bikes, free weights and universal type equipment. Most of the other people there were the ships crew on their off time. My wife had a spa visit which she liked, they run specials every day but she did say at the end it turned into a sales discussion as they want you to buy their products.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8F

We had a balcony on the Spa deck, 1111, this is the top balcony deck so there is no overhang above you which I thought was so good. Brought a collapsible cooler with trash bags and Fuad kept it stocked with ice for the whole cruise. As a plus for us, we just walk up one deck to the Serenity deck, an adult only area (although people cant read signs and bring their children) It has lounge chairs, big lounge mattresses and huge oversized covered chairs for two.

The cabin was clean but as all over reviews the decor is old, especially the bathroom, the toilet was not dirty just very worn, the paint on the balcony looked like it was done by a kid and there were rust spots. The TV is old as well as the interactive system for your sail and sign card. The bed was nice, i didn't feel it coming apart since they just push the two twin bed together. We weren't in the room that much so the old decor and TV did not bother us plus Fuad was so great it makes up for the older room.
