We are back from the Eclipse and the Arctic Circle ..what a great trip. The Eclipse was a very well run and friendly S class ship, food was excellent with many Brit favourites inc. liver and onions. The cabins were kept pristine and service aboard was excellent. CD Eddie presented a selection refreshingly new shows. The itinerary was the most interesting aspect of the cruise but warm and waterproof clothing required at all times!

Iceland ...cold, windy and wet, a lunar landscape but a very interesting economy based on fishing and their green energy self sufficiency generated by their geo thermal power. They have geo thermal heated poly tunnels everywhere producing tomatoes, flowers and all manner of exotic fruit etc. Iceland is in talks with UK and Germany to export geo thermal energy to them. We did bathe in the Blue Lagoon very warm ....bath water temp and thus ticking another box on the bucket list!

Faroe Islands ....green and beautiful fjords ...another fishing economy salmon farms etc but judging by the amount of wool and knitting paraphernalia on sale in the shops a lot of knitting goes on here during the long dark winters! They use grass turfing on their roofs ..good insulation Beautiful little Church in Klasvik.
