Having read many poor reviews of the Fantasia I set off with some doubts re the "wiseness" of my decision to choose a cheap Mediterranean cruise. I rarely (only the second) write reviews but felt that the excellent staff and the ship should be given a fair report.
All the staff we encountered were super: always smiling, pleasant and very willing to help.
The restaurant staff were very good at their job and obviously proud of the service they provide. Our particular waiters: Gedi and Martin, also Ronald and Danny (Head waiters) were very attentive and remembered drink and meal preferences, they were also good fun especially on the themed evenings when a small show was performed when the desserts were served. They spent time and made us feel important in a very busy restaurant.
Cabin Review
Balcony Stateroom
We managed to book 2 cabins next door to each other which meant our steward could open up the balcony divider to enable us to nip from one cabin to the next which made the holiday much more pleasant for us
Our cabin steward: Allan(e) was extremely attentive and efficient at his job without getting in your way. I agree we didn't have the towel animals but then cleanliness and good information and the minibar stocked is more important, (we took the premium drinks package which included the minibar).
The cabin was roomy, we are not the tidiest and managed well with three of us in there very easily. The bathroom was a good size and well designed: in fact there was a cupboard we didn't use. A good shower, towels changed twice daily, pool towels changed daily, shampoo and soap in dispensers in the shower and soap at the sink.
