We just returned from the Viking Rhine Getaway Cruise aboard the Kvasir. A fantastic vacation! The ship was bright and comfortable, the itinerary was interesting and the sights and activities were as god as we expected. But the best parts were the crew and other passengers. We had a crew that seemed to genuinely be having fun at their jobs and enjoy working with each other. Chris, Nancy, Darko and Julien and their staffs worked like a real team. Their attitudes were contagious and really enhanced the trip. We also found some terrific new friends on board and hope to continue these relationships into the future. The itinerary contained a variety of activities from touring castles and cathedrals to wine tasting and a beer hall dinner with a local oom-pah band. There were a couple of bumps along the way – one shore excursion was not up the level of the rest, but most were interesting, picturesque and great fun. The dinner in Rudesheim stands out as one of our favorite memories ever (and Chris, the Program Director sang Sinatra – and did a credible job!). We sailed with Viking once before and had problems with river levels. The way were cared for during that experience led us to come back to Viking. We were not disappointed. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will return for other Viking cruises.
