We took our family of 3 adult children and their spouses and significant other on this 7 day Alaska cruise. We attempted to arrive in Seattle one day prior to embarkation in efforts not to worry about missing the ship. Who would have ever imagined we would have flights delayed and then cancelled due to storms in Las Vegas this time of year. Our 3 hour flight on SWA to Las Vegas turned into a 7 1/2 hour flight. After rebooking a new route we flew to Portland and then rented a SUV to Seattle Sea Tac airport to claim our luggage (day of cruise departure). Unfortunately my Son did not get his luggage and therefore was extremely disappointed to say the least. We arrived to the port via limo service. Check in was very smooth and accommodating. Once on the ship we were welcomed by our Daughter and husband from New York. Relief to say the least. I went to guest services and told them about the missing luggage. They were so very nice and took all of the flight information etc in attempts to have the luggages shipped to one of our ports. Tandi was her name and she was on the phone (on hold) for most of the day to speak to a SWA representative. It was very frustrating and not easy for her to speak to SWA representatives on my Son's behalf. In the end SWA was not willing to allow the luggage to be shipped to another port. End of conversation. Guest services the gave my Son a one week rental of a Tuxedo, underwear, shaving supplies and deordarant along with laundry tokens. WOW !!! Impressive to say the least.

Now time to relax. The ship is very very well kept and maintained. The veranda stateroom was very clean and mattress was comfortable. Brent Nixon is the Naturalist on board and our group took in a lot of his lectures while at sea. He is very passonite and knowledgeable. We also watched "The Show" which in the big production of the week and were very pleased. Our kids range from 25 on up to our age of 60 and there was always something for all of us to do. Some would go to the casino (slots tight) and my son had some luck with blackjack.

Ketchikan: We had a excellent excursion over the Misty Fjords National Wilderness. We had a private plane ride over and I think this might have been the highlight of the trip. Views breathtaking !! Our son-in-law rented fishing gear and had a blast fishing in the stream filled with Salmon.
