My family and I just got back from cruising with Royal Caribbean for the first time. I have never left a review for a cruise ship before but the experience was so bad that I felt compelled to warn others about this ship. To begin I would encourage others to read reviews on this website about this boat. At least I was for warned to have low expectations.

First, the ship was extremely dirty. Unlike other cruise lines that we have traveled on, Royal Caribbean's priorities did not seem to be the upkeep of the ship. Floors were filthy, rust was commonly found throughout the bathrooms, and scratches/dings/and broken walls were throughout the ship. The plumbing was also sub par as the cruise director joked that the "potty" was temperamental. We learned that prior to our arrival a leak was found in one of the pools that forced its closing during our cruise. That may have explained why the eight floor smelt like a sewer every time a toilet was flushed.

Second, the food was terrible. The first night we ate in the main dining room (My Fair Lady). Service was extremely slow and by the time we got our food it was inedible. The staff was friendly but I felt like they were phoning it in because despite complaints, they did nothing to improve the situation. We wound up eating every meal thereafter at the buffet Windjammer which served pretty much the same food over and over and over.

Junior Suite with Balcony

Cabin JS

Our cabin was old. The furniture looked like it had been corroded by salt water. The shower was dirty from mold and smelled like a sewer every time we ran water. The only bright side was that our steward, Clive, was excellent. He was very responsive and did his best to clean the room.
