We just got back from Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas. We had an excellent time. Our party consisted of myself, my husband, his sister and our two 20 something year old daughters and their friend. Although the ship is due to be renovated shortly, it was in relatively good shape.
The food varied from ok to very good. We enjoyed the meal at the specialty restaurant, Chops, very much. That means a a lot since we traveled with two people that are food critics. The staff was fabulous. Our room attendant, Christopher, actually anticipated our needs, supplying us with an extension cord and distiller water without us even asking. Our waiter, Charles, and assistant waiter, Robert, were extremely eager to please us! This alone made for wonderful trip! The bar staff in Olive or Twist (Blondie) and the Champagne bar were also very accommodating.
We loved the two Jazz performances in the Olive or Twist lounge! This is not a regular feature, but it should be! Most of our time was spent in the Schooner Bar listening to Joe Hollywood. We also enjoyed listening to the excellent guitar playing of Manuelo. The Journey concert was an unexpected treat, especially as they wound up singing in the Piano bar! It was like sitting in on our own personal jam session!!
We were in a handicapped room as my husband uses a scooter to get around. The room was lovely. Our room attendant was Excellent!
The new port was much easier to negotiate.
We just went to Colombus Beach. My husband uses a scooter and we find this port very accessable. We enjoyed the barbecue very much. I wouldn't mind staying over and spending two days at Labadee. Maybe a Bonfire on the beach at night etc.
