We were very excited to take our 1st Carnival cruise after travelling with Royal Caribbean 5 times, we had very high expectations. After boarding, many things were to our dismay. The ship is very dated, the service was less than accommodating. The cleaning crew cleaned the hallways every morning at 8am, hitting our cabin door with the vacuum cleaner multiple times waking us up. The atmosphere around the ship and especially the pool area was more like a booze cruise, only playing hip hop music, that catered to some passengers, but not all of us are fans of hip hop, the music outside was extremely loud hip hop, same everyday, and contests for the hairiest man.

Dining the 1st 2 nights, our food was not very good at all, and very small portions. When our waiter was asked for an additional dinner, we seemed to have annoyed him and told us it was too late, we opted for the late dining 8:15pm, and we felt rushed through dinner, I was even served stail bread! Royal Caribbean never refused service. When it came to the buffet, that was awful. There were very long lines waiting for food because there were not enough food stations. At night, the only available food was terrible pizza served by not very happy employees. Either we were spoiled by Royal Caribbean, or maybe our standards are too high, but we expected more from this experience. One good note, our cabin was clean and maintained.
