My sisters and I AKA "The Texas Happy Ladies" just returned from our 15th trip on the AQ.
We traveled on the upper Mississippi. St. Paul to St Paul. We had a wonderful time. The lure of the boat is the fact that it is the only authentic paddlewheeler on the rivers today. It's wonderful to step back in time to a long ago era and travel as people did then. We don't want to get there in a hurry, we want to enjoy every moment of the ride. When we step onboard, no matter how long it's been since our last trip we are welcomed by name and it's like coming home. The food is excellent in the dining room and also on the front porch. It's nice to have options. Snacks can be found at any hour, day or night. The entertainment was excellent, from the onboard entertainers as well as the groups that were brought in. The staff is some of the best in the business, from the Captain down to the deckhands. If you want to travel America's rivers the way they did in the olden days step onboard the Grand American Queen. She won't disappoint. We aren''t looking for a floating hotel. We want a boat that allows us to slow down and enjoy the rivers as our ancestors did. In our book----THE BOATS THE SHOW
Our cabin was small but adequate. We spent minimal time there.
