This year is the first year that the Allure of the Seas has sailed in the Mediterranean.
I was a little worried as, although we have cruised before, we have never been on such a big ship.
Transfers to and from the ship were easy and trouble free, made easier by having completing some paperwork on line before departure.
Surprisingly spacious, had everything you needed including a docking station which not only allowed you to play the music on your I-pod but charged it too!
Lovely bathroom with a fantastic shower.
We were right at the front of the ship so had a large window and a little extra space.
Trouble free transfer, quick and efficient.
We have been to Palma many times before so stayed onboard.
You have to pay for a coach to take you from the port into the town but it is well worth it. We caught the little land train and went up to the church on that which was lovely and well worth the money. Just enjoyed wandering around on our own, a very nice place.
We were a little disappointed as were hoping to do a trip to Portofino from this port. Unfortunately however everyone just wants to go to Florence and Pisa so it wasn't possible. We could have hired a private taxi for 360 euros but couldn't quite run to that expense.
Instead we took a short boat trip to Portovenere which looked a lot like Portofino. We had a lovely time there walking around, eating ice-cream and enjoying "proper" pizza! Only cost 8 Euro each and was well worth the money.
