This was our 4th cruise with Celebrity and the 1st for my parents. We stayed overnight in Barcelona and prior to setting off from home had received the dreaded email advising gastro-intestinal problems had been on the previous cruise and we couldn't embark until 2pm.After a wonderful stay at Hotel Duquesa de Cardona we got a taxi to the port at 1.30. Our suitcases were bundled off and we were given priority as my mother is disabled. Boarding began on the dot at 2pm and we were soon in the Ocean View. Lunch was being served due to lockdown but it didn't bother us and we noticed people taking less than the usual piled up plates they have. We were delayed in setting sail and getting our cabins but it was only to be expected and knowing they were taking extra precautions were good especially as we were travelling with elderly parents susceptible to bugs.

We were Select dining and some nights were organised well and some not but the Maitre'D worked very hard to allocate tables and when there were long lines allowed my Mum to have a seat or we would be given priority which was a nice touch. I cannot say enough about how all the staff were caring towards my Mum's needs.

We ate every evening in the MDR and without exception all the food was good or better. We are not keen on Top Chef and mostly chose from the classic menu that night. We had the classic drinks package and mostly the Sommeliers were brilliant helping us choose wines to suit our food.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Hop on hop off bus -Sagrada Famillia, what an amazing sight

Malta (Valletta)

Took the baracca lift up to the gardens and wandered round the town.

Kotor

Stunning - very long hot walk up to the Fort -3000 steps but well worth it for the views. Sail out through the 17 mile inlet was beautiful.

Taormina (Messina)

Walked around the town -some beautiful churches and squares and panoramic views.

Corfu

Grotty, dirty and looking sad.

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Nice steep walk up to Napoleon Statue

Florence (Livorno)

Disappointed with port area -no free shuttle

Cannes

As expected a French seaside town -very pleasant
