Check in: We were excited to cruise the Independence, finally, and had five friends joining us. We drove to the Port and after about a 15 minute wait to clear the security to the Port we found a parking spot quickly and went to begin the check in process. The process went rather smoothly even with some confusion of where they wanted the Diamond, etc to wait, we were re-located three times, which was no problem... broke up the wait time.
The Ship: Once on board the ship was very pretty and we made the tour, there are numerous reviews on the ships details so won't say more than it is clean, large with lots to see and explore. We immediately were greeted by several employees we recognized from previous cruises... a wonderful experience we always enjoy!
Ports: Costa Maya, Belize, Cozumel The weather for the cruise was great... we made all the ports... and really were impressed with how Costa Maya had been re-built since the hurricane. There is a beautiful pool right at the Port/dock. The dock is a long walk, but has a tram that will pick you up and drop you off at the end of the pier... a very nice accommodation. Our friends took the tour in Belize to the ruins, at our suggestion from a previous trip, and said it was all that we had promised... they really enjoyed. There is a large shopping area at the end of the pier as well as ½ Senior Frogs in Cozumel. Lots of T-shirts and other "touristy" type stuff.
Cosets were spacious. Room was well appointed and had lots of space for "living" and storage. The bathroom was large with a shower, tub/jacuzzi, bidet and two sinks. There is a table and bar/counter with a refrigerator. Plastic flowers. Door bell. Very comfortable bed! Balcony spacious.
