We were very worried after reading the reviews before our holiday, so were very nervous as this was our first cruise. I agree that some of the negative comments are well founded. There weren't enough sunbeds and at times the top deck did resemble a cheap holiday camp eg. belly flop competition.

Thankfully it was easy for us, myself (49) my husband (56) and son (16) to avoid all this, not being sun worshippers. Our son enjoyed the teen rooms and met up with like minded teens. We paid $14.95 for 2 phones to connect to the Royal App and it was easy to keep in contact with him via text and phone. My husband and I could always find a quiet spot usually in the Solarium or on deck 5.

Embarkation was super smooth. There did seem to be a small backlog getting on to the ship but we were in Windjammer's having lunch 45 mins after arriving at the car park.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Obstructed Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin DO

Our cabin was 6164 an obstructed view was as expected thanks to all those videos on YouTube. Plenty of storage for the 3 of us. Obstructed view didn't bother us as we did have a good deal. A quiet spot and close to lifts and we could use the stairs to get to the bars and restaurants
