Having never cruised before but wanting to have a break from theme parks whilst in Orlando this seemed the perfect way to recharge the batteries. Our concerns were we would be younger (40 yrs old ) than the usual age bracket associated with cruising and our teenage children ( 17yr old son & 14 yr old daughter ) would be bored. How wrong we were, as soon as we arrived at the port to check in bags we were pleased to see an array of ages boarding the ship . Check in was efficient, but be patient as it takes a while. We were given our cabin number, passes and a map, and a brief explanation of what would happen once aboard. On boarding we started to look round the ship and were amazed by the space and activities available . The emergency muster was efficiently ran, and once completed we checked into our cabin. Cabin 2292 would be our home for all 4 of us for the week and we were pleasantly surprised by the room we had. Throughout the week it was kept tidy for us and nothing was too much trouble for our state room attendant. Our toilet flooded on first night but this was dealt with swiftly and bathroom floor cleaned straight after. We ate in Galileo for evening meals and were looked after by Jose and Hemsley. Not only was the food of the finest quality and cooked to perfection, but so was the service. They were both attentive, friendly and professional , we were also treated to curry twice during our visit thanks to the area hostess which my husband and son were delighted with. We paid to dine in the 3 speciality restaurants during our cruise , and whilst these were delicious, we would stick to the main restaurant in the evening as we enjoyed the familiarity of our table and regular waiters. The daily entertainment , led by Jamie and cruising Susan was just fantastic and as a family we attended every evening show, the ice skating being a particular highlight. 70s night was a lot of fun and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of this party evening. Our children loved the flo rider and pools, and also loved watching the later shows, feeling more grown up by being allowed to attend. It has without doubt been the best holiday we have had and we will definitely be cruising again soon.
