I have previously cruised the Carnival Legend and 2 different Disney ships. Traveled this time with the husband and our 14 year old daughter. We had an aft balcony cabin on the 7th deck.
We flew in the morning of embarkation and arrived at the port around 12:30. We had purchased Faster to the Fun. The husband did not understand why I would waste $60 on a "fast pass" until we walked to the front of the check in line and saved what would have been 60-90 minutes of wait time. This was also our experience at tender time. If you have booked your own excursions or are planning on doing so after tendering into a port, I cannot recommend FTTF enough! I heard many people say it was the best $60 they'd ever spent.
Highlights: Alchemy Bar is ridiculously good. They've got specials every night and the best drinks I've ever had. Milos (I know I'm not spelling that right) is AMAZING. Breakfast burritos and lunch tacos at the Burrito Bar are always good, the fresh tortillas help. And, yes, Guy's Burgers are as good as you've heard. Like "they're serving prime rib in the dining room tonight, but I'd really rather Guy's was open" good. We really enjoyed the comedy club, both as a family and as a late night adult venue.
Cabin was pretty standard. Not Disney, but nothing is. I loved the aft view, but MAN was that balcony hot. Stifling, brutally hot. I was August, so it's hot, but there is absolutely no air movement and no shade. I like the concept of aft balcony, but won't book it again. Location is very convenient to dining and adult pool.
Took a $10 cab ride to the Money Bar. They had no idea about the items offered on their website, but the drinks are reasonable and the place is quiet. They arranged parasailing for my teen at a reasonable price.
Not really a fan of Belize City. We had some drinks at the Wet Lizard and wandered around the port. Tried wandering just outside the gates, but were inundated with street vendors. If you must get off the boat, book yourself a cave tour.
