We have cruised only once before on Independence of the Seas. Whilst this was indeed a beautiful ship with excellent facilities, we preferred the Caribbean Princess.

We liked to take in the sun away from the main areas around the dj music and outdoor cinema and were always able to find sun loungers in more quiet spots and near splash pools.

Whilst we didn't take part in many onboard activities, there was always something on offer and the team really tried hard to have something which would appeal to the age range and interests of the passengers. We only went to 2 of the shows in the theatre and easily found a seat without queuing early for a performance. The shows weren't to our taste but we appreciated their efforts and others seemed to enjoy them and go every night. We really enjoyed the singers in Explorers Bar and loved the piano man on Deck 6.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin IF

I was concerned that as a claustrophobic I would find the confines of the cabin difficult; I didn't. Our decision to book an interior room was made on price and one we would be happy to make again. We treated the room as somewhere to rest our heads at night. They are well designed and even with 3 of us there was enough room to get ready to go out and to sleep! Our room was not flashy or fancy but it was clean and functional. We didn't plan on spending much time in the cabin and we didn't. Our room steward did an excellent job of keeping our room clean and tidy. Couldn't believe the amount of storage space and there were clothes hangers a plenty. The bathroom is small but again had ample storage for all our toiletries. My husband is 6 foot tall and found reaching for the shampoo a little difficult in the shower but not impossible. Our room was on the same deck as the international cafe and art gallery in a quiet location but easily accessible to bars and boutiques.
