We did the paper work and embarked quickly for our cruise to Norwegian fjords. We headed to our stateroom and found our luggage was already there. We decided to go and grab a bite of lunch before unpacking. Lunch in the Lido was quite nice. There were many choices so there were enough selections for everyone's taste. We then went back to unpack. We had a verandah room and we found it had a lot of storage space and hanging space. We put our suitcase under the bed after organizing our clothes. There were drawers under bottom of the bed and under the sofa we didn't even use. The bathroom had a bathtub...it was the nicest bathroom on any of the cruises we have been on.
We found the room steward Augos and his assistant to be quite nice and professional. They filled our ice bucket twice a day and made the room clean and tidy while we were gone for the day. The choices at dinner in the main dining room at dinner were mostly quite good. There were a couple of misses, but for the most part we enjoyed it all. The service by Jono and Anto was amazing. My husband was gluten free and they were very accommodating. The first day the chef in the Lido went all around the buffet to show him the options he could have made GF. We very much appreciated that.
The port we visited were beautiful. We booked our own tours at each of the ports so we can't speak to HAL's choices of excursions.
Lots of storage both drawers and hanging space. Loved the bathtub in bathroom. Very attentive cabin stewards. We were travelling with friends and asked for the steward to remove balcony partition which he did so we had a very spacious area to share while relaxing and cruising. Loved the commentary while leaving each port. Sat with a glass of wine with door open to balcony and TV volume up so we could hear it out on balcony.
We flew into Copenhagen 4 days before our cruise and did our sightseeing on our own. We saw Amalianborg Palace and changing of the guards. We saw Rosenborg Palace and grounds. We took Canal boat ride. Went to Tivoli in the evening,it was quite beautiful the grounds and the flowers and the fountains. We did quite a lot if walking and felt we got a lot out of our visit. We took the train to Rothskilde to see the cathedral and Viking museum. We went to the Danish Jewish museum and Danish National Museum. We had no trouble getting around and found the Copenhagen card for train travel and museum entrance very helpful.
