We were so looking forward to sailing on Anthem having sailed on Allure a couple of years ago, however it was a disappointment, I choose a balcony cabin on deck 13, I did realize at the time the pool deck was above but wasn't to fussed as after daylight goes it's generally quiet, not on here! Even late at night early hours of morning, people running around and staff what I can only assume where jet washing the sunbed/decks! Then there is the issue with sun beds there are just not enough, unless your prepared to be up by 8am your not likely to get one, despite them saying no reserving everyone was, as a guest you should be entitled to one, then during the duration of the cruise and after lots of complaints they start sticking yellow post it notes on the beds with a time then they come back and if your not there your possessions and towels are removed, I only went to get a drink and found stickers on the beds, the ships newsletter states 30 mins left unattended but staff said 15 mins! There is not enough outdoor space on the ship especially sunbathing areas there is only 1 outdoor pool for over 4,000 guests! Then we come to the food, cold and tasteless in all but Wonderland and Silk, the food is practically the same in all the restaurants except for a slightly different description given! The Grande is a lovely restaurant where formal dress is required however we saw people with shorts on and jeans, a Royal Carribean have removed the formal nights and only stipulated it in this restaurant, however it's not enforced! The service in some is a joke we waited 30 mins for drinks to arrive in more than one restaurant. Now the guests, 75% were on a booze cruise with unruly children/teenagers, teenagers sitting on stairs not even prepared to move for you, one evening about 9.30 after dinner thought we would go for a walk up on deck only for teenagers in the jacuzzi to throw a wet ball in our path! We have evening wear on! No apology just "chuck the ball back"! We go into the theatre to watch a show, child 2 years old at most with mother constantly kicking the back of chair and doing the best to talk through the whole show, other guests tried the sshhh but she wasn't bothered! Plates & glasses left in lifts, stairs everywhere, I even heard a member of staff say "the guests are disgusting" I pointed out we are not all like that! Unfortunately I Believe due to the percentage of guests with bad manners and bad habits it's actually effecting the moral of the staff! We was awoken at 3.30am by a couple screaming at each other in the hallway! After so much we complained to guest services, who said that it was the school holidays, however guest services had made some "disembarking" of guests due to bad behavior! I explained that I have been on other cruises in school holidays and they were nothing like this, we explained about the food and the Head Chef visited us in The Grande to ensure our dinner was hot! And the service was ok, various other department contacted us to apologize and we found a bottle of Moët in our cabin as a sorry! And trust me we spoke to others that agreed with everything we said. On a positive note the ports were great, Gibraltar,Malaga, Cadiz,Palma, Ibiza and the interior of the ship is beautiful and the ifly definitely worth a visit, disembarkation was easy! Summing up.....far too many guests on this ship, bad service and bad food and some unruly guests!
