We have been home for a week now and had time to fully appraise our first cruise. We are a family of four. Mum dad and two kids, a girl of 14 and a boy of 18. We chose this cruise because the ship appealed to us all, with all the different activities available and the itinerary. We hadn't been to any of the port stops.
Embarkation
This was very smooth. We arrived at Southampton at 11.30 and stopped in front of the terminal where we loaded our luggage onto the trailer, then parked our car opposite in the car park. Inside the terminal a RCI lady explained what to do and within 20 mins we were through security and had our sea passes ready to board the ship. Amazingly easy. On board we had a quick wander around before heading to the Windjammer for an early lunch. At 1pm it was announced that cabins were ready. Our luggage had even been delivered .
Embarkation is very smooth
Good for picking up forgotten items and duty free. Do a ship excursion if you wNt to guarantee getting to the top and back
Lovely place. Nice streets and squares to wander around.
Easy to take the train to Monaco or nice or Cannes. Plenty to do. At the station you must validate your tickets in the blue machines ,
Interesting town. Nice beach. Ship docks right by the town
You have to get the bus to the beach .10 euros each. Takes about half an hour. Lovely beach
Hop on hop off bus tour is quite good, the commentary is rubbish though. Palma cathedral is a must
Taxi tour at the terminal was good. We paid 200 euros for four of us to have an hour and a half tour of cDiz, with several stops then the driver took us to Jerez wherever had bought tickets for the horse show. He wAited and brought us back to the ship. Worth it for security of mind.
