When booking a trip, our travel agent recommended Celebrity for its food and wine. That was so far from what we experienced that neither my sister or I will ever take another Celebrity cruise again. We had an Aqua class cabin that allowed us to dine at Blu. Out of all the breakfasts and dinners we only had 1 good complete meal at Blu. We tried Blu 2 other times and found the food bland and not edible. We had hoped the lobster would be excellent. Unfortunately it was so overcooked that we couldn't even cut it with a knife. The vegetables at most dinners were the best on the plate. We tried the Tuscan restaurant the first night for half-price ($45 for 2). Denny's would have been better. We did the buffet for breakfast. The only thing I can say is stay with cold cereal and fruit. We tried the main dining room for lunch and left after 2 bites. Dry hamburger and couldn't get service to provide condiments. Panni bread was too thick and hard. Tried to make it an open-face sandwich and meat and cheese stuck to the bread. If the food were the only thing that was back, we might give Celebrity a chance but the service was even worse.

Upon boarding we found the Wine Cellar. Looked very promising. We were greeted upon arrival and sold a self-service card to buy wine by the ounce at the self-serve station in the back of the Wine Cellar. Unfortunately frequently bottles of wine were empty and not refilled. There was never a staff member around to fill the supply. On the occasions we were in the Wine Cellar and enjoying wine, we didn't see any staff member. Folks came in to just buy a glass of wine but no one was there it serve them. Frequently the Wine Cellar was closed for special events or just closed. Thus we couldn't even get in to use our self-service card. We left the cruise with $$ still on our card. In walking around the ship, we frequently saw the other bars without anyone in attendance, even before and after dinner.

As an Aqua class cabin, we had cold tea in our room. The seward did not seem to fill it on a regular basis. In fact one day it was left completely empty. We frequently had to ask for toliet paper and shampoo to be refilled. When I finally saw the steward and ask that he refill the shampoo, he grabs shampoo, conditioner, and lotion and put them in my hands. I guess he didn't want to be interupted from the music playing in his headphones. We did complain about the steward and his service did get better.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 1

Cabin A1

Cabin was nice size. Bathroom much larger than expected. Balcony was large enough for 2 to sit comfortably. Unfortunately there was no plug in the bathroom for the hair blower.

Port Reviews

Seattle

We arrived a couple days early and explored Seattle on our own. Wonderful city. Elliott's resturant is wonderful. Go to the Space Needle early. Underground tour was interesting and worthwhile.
