We flew to Amsterdam one day early and stayed at the Hampshire American for 1 night, very nice and excellent location. We did a HOHO canal boat tour and walked around in our own. We took a cab to the ship around noon, left our luggage and joined the ship for their walking tour. We went with two other couples and ate together all of the dinners at a table for 6. Service was outstanding and the meals always had enough choices for everyone to enjoy. Breakfast and lunch on board was sitting with our friends, new friends or just ourselves, all good. Carl, our cruise direct was outstanding, he was always there to announce next day's activities, taking pictures or answer questions. The thumb drive of the trip is worth the $18, even when taking a ton of my own pictures.
We also had to change ships half way thru do to low water levels, but was done while we were on an excursion and then a 2 hours bus trip. Having to pack was not something I enjoyed, but the staff moved everything very, even soda from the frig.
We did all the included excursions and signed up for the extra concert in Vienna, which was very good.
Plenty of room and enjoyed opening the door, but not a necessity next time around.
