My husband and I along with 4 others boarded the MSC Divina in Civitavecchia on the 25th of July this year. Boarding was ok not too hectic. We found the ship very beautiful in décor but almost too big. We were upgraded to balcony on the 9th deck which was a nice treat but we have been on other cruises with much more spacious cabins. We found the cabins on Divina were on the small side with not much space for hanging clothes or drawers for clothes and no where to store your luggage. I left most of my clothes in my suit case which ended up staying the couch as there was no other place to put it. My husbands suit case was propped up beside the desk and basically in the way. The bathrooms were pitifully small, forget about trying to shave your legs in the shower cause you really can't bend down with out bumping your head, lol. They do provide a dispenser in the shower for hair and body which is nice but the blow dryer for your hair is located in the desk drawer which I thought was funny, it's clear across the cabin from the bathroom. The rooms were kept beautifully clean but on the boring side in décor, and no fun towel animals, boohoo, lol.

The food was in most cases very good in both the dining room and the buffet, sometimes the buffet offered a better selection than the dining room. We found the buffet was not designed well, you seemed to go around in circles and food stations were too spread out, you tended to miss stuff. We also found it very difficult to get seating especially for larger groups. It didn't seem to matter what time of morning or afternoon it was always full. We also found that they couldn't keep up with the food in the trays, if some item ran out you were waiting a fair bit before it got restocked. We were also disappointed that they didn't have things like a 24 hour pizzeria, or a bbq going by the pool areas. We did not try the specialty restaurants as we felt we paid enough and didn't like the idea of having to pay extra for meals. They should treat the specialty restaurants the same as they do on all inclusive resorts, giving guests at least one to choose from and by reservation only which you had to make if you wanted to dine there. But in all fairness we did enjoy pretty much everything that was offered.

After dinner in the evening we enjoyed espresso, cappuccinos and after dinner drinks at the "Café Italia" located 2 stories up (deck 7) in the center atrium. Just at the top of the beautiful stair case which each step is inlaid with crystals that just sparkled. The entertainment in the center atrium was quite pleasant with piano bar and a singer. At "Café Italia" we were lucky to have a wonderful server Wayan. Just after a couple of nights he already knew what we each drank and basically had it ready for us or at least ordered. He always had a smile for us which is something we missed from most staff on this ship. The night clubs/bars are plenty and again beautifully decorated and the entertainment from the piano, jazz band etc was great. The casino was nice but I didn't spend too much time there, that's my husband's area but he wasn't too impressed. My sister in law did win a bit on the slots which was nice.
