This was our third Disney Cruise, second on the Dream. Grandma, Pop Pop and 7 and 8 year old grandsons. The smiles on their faces were worth the extra cost of a summer cruise. The ship docked at Castaway Cay on two days and in Nassau one day. There is so much to do on the ship that we didn't bother to get off in Nassau this time. The boys loved the detective agency search on board, as well as the mini golf and the kids club. We cooled off with some indoor movies. The family pool is small and the water was too warm for comfort. The adults took turns going to the adults only area pool to cool down.

Castaway Cay was delightful ! plenty of lounges and chairs under colorful umbrellas. Water is clear and cooling. The grandsons snorkeled for hours with Pop Pop and found the hidden Mickey and Minnie underwater statutes. The lunch buffet was good and plentiful, lots of fresh fruit (to balance out the large chocolate chip cookies) and salads, burgers, dogs ribs and chicken. Soft drinks and ice cream are flowing the entire time, and there were several bars where we could grab some refreshment while the boys went into the kids club at Schooners Cove for a while. Bike rides around the island were enjoyable on the wide seat cruisers with water stops along the way and a lookout tower where we could spot the ship.

The staff on the ship are all friendly and helpful. Our cabin attendant was always visible in the hallways and swept into and out of our room with no interruptions - plenty of clean towels when needed and she tidied up the room several times a day. The wait staff stays with you as you rotate through the dining rooms each night. They learn your beverage of choice on the first night and have it at the table right after you are seated on the next night. Menu was varied and everything we ate was delicious. The grandsons tried escargot and loved it ! The workers in the kids club are friendly and interacted well with all the children.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin was clean and in good repair. Plenty of room for four with one bed coming out of the wall at the end of each day. Large porthole window but great blackout curtain that kept room dark and comfortable for sleeping. Plenty of drawer and closet space.

Embarkation process went smoothly

Castaway Cay

Easy on and off the ship, take the tram to the second stop (if you have children) and work your way back to the first stop as the day progresses.
