This was a first time cruise experience for my husband, grandson and I. My daughter had travelled on Carnival but it was nearly 20 years ago. The trip was planned to celebrate grandson's graduation from high school, and we couldn't have had a better time! I was apprehensive because of motion sickness, but never once felt badly. Just take your meds and you'll be fine :-).

The staff is very well-trained, and it's obvious that making sure the passengers are enjoying themselves is priority. Our room steward, Rai, always made sure he was as unobtrusive as possible..no knocking on the door to clean the room, and yet it was always clean and tidy. And of course the towel animals were a welcome addition. Our evening dinners were spent in the main dining room, and the food was quite good. The menu was varied, there was something for everyone, and the desserts were delicious. The dining room staff was exceptional...in particular Henry and Chen...we hated to say goodbye!

We stayed with Carnival-sponsored shore excursions as this was all new to us, and were glad we did. Each day onshore was an unforgettable experience.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Despite what we'd heard, there was plenty of storage space, and the balcony was a huge plus. What a great place to spend quiet morning breakfasts and relaxing before bedtime. The bathroom was a decent size and there was a nice size medicine cabinet. Do bring an alarm clock! I was constantly checking my phone for the time or asking someone with a watch. We slept well-the room was very quiet. Perhaps we were lucky in picking our location. We were on the 7th floor approximately mid-ship.

Port Reviews

Miami

We flew in to Miami the day prior to our cruise, and stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay, which was located directly across from the port. It was a short shuttle ride from the hotel to the port.

Half Moon Cay

Our ship was the first to arrive, so we had the entire beach to ourselves at first...amazing!! We did rent the clamshell cabanas and would recommend them, as well as snorkel equipment for the one inexperienced snorkeler in our party in order to practice. Not much to see on the bottom but it was good practice! It was honestly the cleanest, most pristine beach any of us had seen, and the clear blue water was just amazing! We could've stayed there even longer..and for sure will be back.
