Viking River Cruises are very bare bones with no amenities on board. No spa, no casino, no workout room, no room service, no food except at meal time, limited food choices, for example you can't have an appetizer and a salad, must choose one or the other, limited evening entertainment. Top deck was closed for 2 days while we sailed under bridges. Cabins are quite small, and the bed was rock hard.
But worst of all we had to spend 1 full day on a bus because the river was too low, and we had to pack up everything and change ships. Not how I wanted to spend my cruise. While their fine print does state their might be "deviations", I did not expect that deviation to include a full day on a bus.
The ship was very clean, and the staff very nice. I just feel that Viking was not very informative about what to expect. If they had been, we would not have booked this type of cruise.
Cabin was very clean, but very small. Bed extremely uncomfortable and very hard. Sheets were not very good quality
Absolutely fabulous city. Loved the sights, the market, and seeing all the lights at night. Would definitely return to this wonderful city.
There is a wonderful tram that will provide a tour of the city. I went on an architectural tour of the city churches. That was fantastic. Very nice old city to visit.
