This was our seventh Alaska cruise, sixth on Princess and fifth cruisetour. Needless to say we love Alaska, which is why we keep coming back. This time we chose to repeat our 2012 cruisetour that took us to Kenai, so that our friends could experience what we have enjoyed in the past. The tour was seamless as usual...Princess does a phenomenal job of moving us from point A to point B with no stress. That said, this was our first experience on the Star Princess. We chose a mini-suite on the port side right next door to our friends. We were disappointed to see the condition of the ship...there was rust on our balcony, which I have never encountered before. In addition the tiles in our bathroom were loose...in fact one came out on the second day, and sadly our cabin steward just took it and did not report the missing tile...so for the entire trip we had a tile missing from the floor. Though not a big deal, we felt it was not up to the standards we have come to expect from Princess.

The food was good and the service in the dining room was excellent. We had anytime dining but after eating in the Capri Dining Room the first night, we made reservations to eat at the same table every night, the service was that good. The highlight of our dining experience was The Chef's Table; definitely worth the price!!

Alaska is a special place, larger than life. The ports are fun and the excursions many. The two days of scenic cruising are the true highlight. For those reasons we will probably return.
